El Gato depends on donations to supplement meeting the cats’ needs. Such needs include food, litter, vetting costs, incremental rent & overhead costs to shelter, staffing for the care of the cats, and other supplies and toys for enriching the lives of the cats. Consider becoming a long-term partner with us by making your donation a recurring one here.
We offer tax-exempt donations, eligible for company matches, which not only secure the future of the cat cafe, but also allow us to make a bigger imprint on the cat community of Houston through increasing our TNR efforts*, education efforts and rescue efforts*, as well as making even more contributions to our rescue partners. When you donate, you will receive your tax deductible donation receipt through email. Email us at info@elgatocharities.org with questions.
*We do not offer TNR programs or rescue efforts to the public due to current funding limitations.
Volunteer
We are also always looking for volunteers to help with fostering cats, facilitating adoptions, attending to guests in the cat cottage, fundraising, and trap-neuter-return. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer with us.

Sponsor a kitty
Perfect for those who wish they could adopt but cannot. For a $100 donation, you can sponsor an El Gato resident cat of your choice.
Sign up here * and receive a shout out from your sponsored cat on the "Meet the Kitty" introduction posts. You can also gift a cat sponsorship and the sponsored cat can provide the recipient a special message in the social media post. Your sponsorship helps us to cover food and supplies for the sponsored kitty.
